To mark the 350th anniversary of the foundation of the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, Royal Mail have released a special commemorative issue. The prestige stamp booklet comprises sixteen stamps - all six from the stamp issue (with two repeated), the four from the miniature sheet and four barcoded Definitives arranged with one label - four panes in total.
Cover 1 in the Gold 500 set focuses on John Flamsteed who was the first Astronomer Royal and so lived and worked at the Observatory. The cover features an image of him framed by a 22ct gold-blocked design and bears a London SE10 handstamp. Numbered limited edition of 500.
