This Royal Mail issue celebrates The Transformers, almost 40 years since they first appeared in toyshops and on TV screens. The eight stamps, designed in pairs - each showing a battle between an Autobot and Deception, feature original illustrations by comic artists Andrew Wildman, Stephen Baskerville and John-Paul Bove. Optimus Prime (1st class), Megatron (1st class), Bumblebee (1st class), Starscream (1st class), Grimlock (£1.85), Shockwave (£1.85), Acree (£1.85) and Soundwave (£1.85).
The stamps are printed with UV ink and shining under a UV light will reveal each character's motif and their name coded in the Cybertronian alphabet. They were revealed live on stage at the TFNation Transformers convention in Birmingham.
The BLCS 2500 cover bears a Bumblebee Lane, Hinckley handstamp.
