Royal Mail are celebrating the art of stamp designer David Gentleman, whose designs have featured on 103 issued stamps - more than any other stamp designer - with a miniature sheet comprising six iconic stamps featuring his work.
The stamps included in the sheet are: National Productivity Year 1962 (2nd class); British Ships 1969 (2nd class); British Trees 1973 (1st class); Social Reformers 1976 (1st class); 900th Anniversary of the Battle of Hastings 1966 (£1.70) and 25th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain 1965 (£1.70).
The BLCS 5000 cover features the 2022 miniature sheet together with stamps from the original 1965 25th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain issue, which were designed by David Gentleman and his wife Rosalind Dease. The cover bears a Hertford handstamp.
