The 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War is commemorated in eight stamps capturing the sense of relief and celebration felt by service personnel and civilians when news of the conflict’s end was announced. Also featured in these stamps are images of personnel returning from overseas, as well as the return of children evacuated from major cities. The stamps are issued in pairs of 2nd Class, 1st Class, £1.42 and £1.63 values.
This cover carries an image of flag-waving service men and women and children on one of the many impromptu celebrations. The cover bears a VE-Day 75th Anniversary Victory Place, London SE 17 handstamp.
