2019 marks the 20th anniversay of the publication of the prize-winning children's book 'The Gruffalo' written in rhyming couplets by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler. With worldwide sales of over 13 million in 59 editions, it quickly became established as a children's classic.
The Miniature Sheet comprising four stamps - two 1st class (Owl and Mouse) and two £1.55 (Snake and Fox) - with the Gruffalo in the selvedge, carry brand new full colour images commissioned by Royal Mail from illustrator Axel Scheffler.
The set of four covers in the BS set illustrate each individual stamp with an appropriate image and handstamp together with a unifying floral 20th Anniversary cachet.
