A beautiful set of Royal Mail stamps depicting the oldest inhabited castle in the world, and official country residence of Her Majesty The Queen. Six colourful stamps show various views of this hugely popular tourist attraction, founded by William the Conquerer circa 1080. The Long Walk, the Round Tower and the Norman Gate represent the exterior, while St George's Hall, the Queen's Ballroom and the Waterloo Chamber depict it's fine Gothic interior.
This cover's image shows the Upper Ward and the stamps are cancelled with a Windsor Castle pictorial handstamp.
