20 November 2017 marks a unique milestone in the history of the British Royal Family when HM The Queen and HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh celebrated their Platinum Wedding Anniversary.
The commemorative Royal Mail miniature sheet comprises of three pairs of 1st class and £1.57 stamps with evocative images of the then Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip on the occasion of their engagement in July 1947; their wedding in Westminster Abbey and during their honeymoon. The stamps are set against a detailed image of the Princess's wedding dress.
This BLCS 5000 cover complements the sheet with an engagement photograph taken in July 1947 and bears a London SW1 handstamp.
