Architecture has been a very popular theme for British stamps. The ten stamps in this issue celebrate excellence in contemporary UK architecture and engineering and feature some of the best buildings designed for public use. They range from the Olympic Aquatics Centre in London through parliamentary chambers to a dramatic project in an abandoned clay pit in Cornwall.
This cover complements the stamps with an image of basic tools of the architect’s trade - an extending tape-measure and a drawing pen and pencil. The cover is completed by a South Bank, London handstamp.
