The Royal Mail stamps in this issue celebrate one of the most influential and cultural figures in music history, David Bowie. The stamps themselves follow the same die-cut format as the Classic Album Covers range from 2010.
The retail booklet contains four 1st class definitives and two of the 1st class commemoratives from the stamp issue: Aladdin Sane and Heroes.
For this cover, an intricate 22ct gold blocked design frames the image of the mural painted of Bowie in Brixton, which became a shrine when news of his death was released. The cover additionally carries the 2010 Classic Album Covers stamp that features The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars and all are cancelled with a Bowie Close, London handstamp. Issued in a numbered limited edition of 500.
